On Thursday 27th August, we held our first ever Opportunities Day. We had over 20 apprenticeship providers and employers at the Centre and met with many young people and their parents.

We were able to link young people up with apprenticeship providers and employers and present many new alternative careers and options  to young people.

“This is a first for Downham” said our local M P Liz Truss who visited the centre and opened the event before touring the various stands and chatting to exhibitors, as did the High Sheriff of Norfolk who said that he “was deeply impressed by the event and commitment of the centre stuff in putting the event on”  .

Such was the success of the event that a larger event is being considered for next year when we hope to see many more employers attend. Watch this space for the next event and find out just how many options you have for your future.
